At every worship service an offering plate is passed giving people an opportunity to give a free-will offering to support the operation and ministries of CBF in the Courtland area, as well as the Lord's work being done by various missionaries around the world. CBF does not conduct any fund raising activities such a bake sales, raffles, bingo nights etc. It never requires people to give, or asks for specific amounts of money. Occassionally, special offerings are taken to raise money for specific church projects.
The collecting of an offering is meant for our own people at CBF, and it is not expected that visitors have to give. However, visitors may choose to give of their own free will.
All offerings can be receipted for income tax purposes provided the giver uses one of the envelopes placed in the seat racks, and provides a name and address. Those who wish to be regular givers may request a boxed set of envelopes which identifies the giver by an assigned number. Requests for these envelopes should be directed to Lois Chipps, the church financial secretary.
